Our bus is a Leyland Titan given the number T51 when it entered service with London transport on the 7th July 1979. It carried the UK registration number: WYV 51T.
It started its life at Aldenham before transferring to Chiswick for trials. It entered service in December 1979 operating from the North Street Garage in Romford on the outer reaches of East London This is where the owner of The London Transport Company grew up.
T51 was overhauled in April 1984 and was then posted to Barking where it served until 1992 when it was transferred to Catford.
In May 1994 T51 was placed in store until being sold into the private sector. At this time T51 was converted to single door status and undertook various charter work in the UK until being sold to The London Transport Company in Perth Australia.
We repainted T51 into its original colours (minus the yellow doors)
T51 started life with London Transport in England, and will serve the rest of its days with The London Transport Company (Australia).
Despite her age T51 presents just as she did in her original London Transport days and is still capable of 80 km/h
